In this fun stage, your little one is on the move and we have created lessons that use a range of motions, pretend play and action songs and activities that will help them play to learn. They will love crawling through tunnels, stretching and jingling our Jingle Band while singing a fun song, and of course, playing with Sally the Sensory Snake to touch and feel a wide range of textures while singing about jungle fun!

All experiences are created for further developing skills in all areas by engaging in one-on-one, independant and group activities. The exciting time your little one is having will not only make them anxious to come back every week for more fun, but it will also aid in all areas of development and help them get used to structured periods of focus and concentration, which is also so important for further successful milestone development.

Cognitive Thinking - At this stage, your adorable little waddler is able to find objects even when hidden 2 or 3 levels deep and so we like to play hide-and-seek type activities to further this skill, lessons will also include sorting by shapes and color and lots of make believe, as your little one is really starting to explore their imaginative side!

Physical - The term waddler comes from the fact that your little is now waddling everywhere on thier own. Your waddler will still take a few tumbles but we have plenty of activities to help them practice their balancing skills. Your little one will love the puppet shows, fishing games, beach ball volleyball, standing on their tiptoes to reach the sea animals under our Under the Sea Playchute and playing one of their favorite games, kick the bubbles! Physical contact between you and your little one is a very important part of the bonding process and we are always sure to include that through stretching and relaxation techniques that gives everyone a moment to take a deep breath and take it all in before saying goodbye until next week.

Social - Imitation is a large part of learning social behavior at this stage. Your waddler will love action songs where they imitate the class leader. Waddlers are very aware of themselves as separate from others and like to see themselves as independent. But also begin to recognize friends and enjoy the company of other children. This is a perfect time for them to learn about sharing and caring. Reading books together, singing our Mirror Song and imitating and learning new signs each week.

What happens in a class?

Our Wondering Waddlers classes are divided into three phases incorporating animated activities and skill development activities. Activities are short, dynamic and exciting with a clear sense of purpose to keep those short attention spans receptive.

Wondering Waddler classes start with the stimulating exploratory play area, which is set out differently each week. Children enjoy scrambling over obstacles, balancing on steps and blocks and crawling through tents and tunnels. They also enjoy putting the equipment away after play as we sing the clean up song.

Next, we'll have structured, themed activities and games led by the Class Leader. The first activity is to warm up with our Mirror Song. You and your child will then enjoy an action-packed adventure in a multi-sensory environment. Every session ends with singing, dancing and signing our goodbye song.

These sessions last 55 minutes.
