Lessons are carefully and lovingly created with varying themes,  experiences and activities weekly. You will not have the same lesson twice. All activities are intended for developing physical, social and emotional and language skills, physical coordination, awareness of surroundings and a love of music and concentration, which is so important for further successful milestone development.

 

Recent research illustrates that the most important time for development is the first year of life. Our goal is to incorporate many different baby activities that will build up a wealth of sensory experiences:

 

Sensory - at this stage, lessons include auditory cues, following moving objects, recognizing familiar objects and people at a distance through repetition, using hand and eye coordination activities, aromatherapy and being introduced to many varying textures.

 

Physical - ensuring baby gets plenty of tummy time to aid in raising the head and chest, stretching and kicking while on the back and learning to reach for, hold and shake objects, and physical contact between you and your baby through relaxation techniques, touching, cuddling and rocking.

 

Social, emotional and language skills are touched on regularly through the use of sign language, music and song.

 

What happens in a class?

 

In our Brilliant Babies classes, we begin with our Mirror song where we use rhythm, movement and toys to get us excited and focused on the activities to come. Everyone enjoys learning new signs each class and the babies love expressive movement!

 

Then, we delve into some fun sensory activities that will not only be teaching you and your child how to help develop their senses and language skills but also allow you to form a closer bond with each other in the process.

 

The classes also have exploratory play time in our soft play area where babies can get familiar with a range of equipment specifically selected to stimulate your baby's senses. Meeting others with young babies and forming friendships with other parents and caregivers are also a vital part of adapting to being a parent and much of this happens during this time as well.

 

And we will end our time together, exploring our final sensory activity and singing and signing a Goodbye song.

 

These sessions last 40 minutes.
